Price Guide
A guide to what my work usually costs, so you know roughly what to expect before you get in touch. Most jobs are priced at a fixed figure, agreed before any work starts, so you pay for the finished job and not the clock. Where part of a job is hidden until I've opened it up, I'll give you my best estimate and agree any change with you before carrying on. No surprise invoices, ever.
Got a list? Bundling saves you money
My minimum charge for any visit is £95, however small the job, because that covers my travel, setting up and the time I've set aside for you. Once I'm there, extra jobs are priced for the work alone. So a curtain pole on its own is £95, but add two blinds and a mirror and the whole list might come to around £180, where four separate visits would cost far more. Send me three or more small jobs together and I'll price them as one visit.
What you're paying for
I'm not the cheapest, and I don't try to be. I price in the middle to upper part of the range because of the materials I use and the time I allow to do a job to a high standard.
Outdoor work is put together with galvanised fixings that won't rust and I fit good-quality hinges, latches and ironmongery that I'd be happy to have in my own home. The timber I buy is FSC-certified, which means it comes from responsibly managed forests. Kitchens go in with rigid-built cabinets, and fencing is built on site board by board.
I travel to jobs in an electric vehicle, I'm a registered waste carrier so anything I take away is disposed of properly, and I recycle as much packaging as I can.
Most of my work is priced at a fixed figure before I start. Where part of a job can't be seen until it's opened up, such as rot or whatever is behind old tiles, I give my best estimate and agree any change with you before going over it. I'm fully insured and DBS checked, and my work is guaranteed for up to 12 months.
If you're comparing quotes, it's worth asking what materials are being used and what happens if something goes wrong afterwards.
