What I keep about you, why I keep it, and what you can ask me to do with it.

Who I Am

Owen Home & Garden Services is the trading name of Owen Williams, a sole trader based in Long Ashton, Bristol. I am responsible for the details you give me. You can reach me on 07427 339 458 or at owenhomeandgardenservices@gmail.com.

What I Keep

When you get in touch or book work, I keep your name, address, phone number and email, the details of the job, any photos and measurements you send me or that I take of the work area, and a record of quotes, invoices and payments. I do not see or store your card details, which are handled by the payment provider.

Why I Keep It

I use your details to reply to your enquiry, price and carry out the work, send quotes and invoices, honour my guarantee, and keep the business records the law requires. I may also send past customers an occasional message about my services, and you can ask me to stop at any time.

I will never sell your details or pass them to anyone for their own marketing, and I will not publish photos of your home without asking you first.

Who Sees It

Your details are stored in the tools I use to run the business, which are ServiceM8 for jobs and quotes, FreeAgent for accounts, and Squarespace for this website. Where a job needs another trade, such as an electrician or gas engineer, I share only what they need to do their part. I may also have to share records with HMRC or other authorities if the law requires it.

How Long I Keep It

I keep job and payment records for six years after the work is finished, which covers my tax records and any questions about the work. If you enquire but do not go ahead, I delete your details within twelve months.

Your Rights

You can ask to see what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it where I no longer need to keep it by law. Just message or email me and I will reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with how I have handled your details, please tell me first so I can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
